The Asian road to the World Cup 2014 Brazil

Four nations will qualify for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil with the potential for an extra place in an inter-continental play-off.

Asia 2014 World Cup Qualifying Round 1

First round matches were played in June and July 2011.

Of the 19 winners in the first round, the 8 lowest seeded teams must play in the second round. The remaining 11 higher seeds go straight into the third round.

Asia 2014 World Cup Qualifying Round 2

Second round matches were completed in July 2011

Asia 2014 World Cup Qualifying Round 3

Qualifiers from round 2 joined the top five seeds in Asia, Japan, South Korea, Australia, North Korea and Bahrain in the third round. The top two from each group in round 3 progress to the fourth round.

Asia 2014 World Cup Qualifying Round 4

The draw for the fourth round of Asian qualifying took place on March 9th 2012.

The two third place finishers from each group will play each other to determine the nation advancing to an inter-continental play-off against the fifth placed finisher in South America.
